We are looking to grow our team of Artisans with a Principal Product Designer.

 

About the Role

The Principal Product Designer is a proven people leader and product design expert with experience leading successful teams. You provide your guidance and expertise in delivering client-centric solutions to a team of product designers of all experience levels. You will create high-quality designs that are compliant with device standards and accessibility guidelines to exceed our client’s expectations. The Principal Product Designer represents the design team professionally to multiple external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Independently work with internal and external stakeholders to address client needs and meet business objectives throughout ongoing, simultaneous consulting projects
  • Contribute regularly to leadership meetings and provides updates and reports about team performance
  • Facilitate working sessions and meetings with product owners and designers
  • Discern both business and user design requirements
  • Create functional and elegant designs in Figma and/or Adobe XD with an expert understanding of layout, color theory and hierarchy
  • Conduct usability tests and prototypes to validate designs
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to proactively generate design throughout the product life cycle
 

About The Candidate

You have direct, practical experience working in a technology consultancy firm and demonstrated technical competency in Professional Services. You have previous, demonstrated experience in team management and are able to motivate and hold them accountable in equal measure. You are an adept project manager and problem solver with the ability to leverage your strong UX skills to translate business requirements into shippable designs.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years of design experience working on web and mobile applications with multiple products shipped
  • Expert understanding of Figma and/or Adobe XD
  • Proven experience designing for multiple devices
  • Extensive experience prototyping ideas to test viability
  • Knowledge of designing against user stories
 

Extra Credit

  • Degree in computer science or related degree/technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with eCommerce and retail solutions and environments

As a remote-first, digitally innovative technology consulting firm, we pride ourselves on our ability to meet the needs of our clients. As such, you may be required to travel quarterly, depending on the specific client responsibilities of your role. This position requires constant operation of a computer, various software programs and other electronic productivity tools. This position requires prolonged observation of a computer screen. Additionally, it requires regular participation in virtual meetings and trainings.
